Refurbishment and conversion of listed mill building to form a unique new museum dedicated to children’s literature with a gallery, cafe and associated works.
The contract also included the redevelopment of an adjoining single storey warehouse to enable the introduction of a contemporary addition to the building which formed the entrance foyer, plant rooms and the vertical circulation to be contained out with the mill to make efficient use of space and avoid the mill’s character being harmed.
The completed project went on to win the following awards: –
