Jeff Alexander, a Surgo board director, has recently celebrated a milestone of long-service.

Jeff, who joined the company in 1989 as a senior quantity surveyor, has enjoyed 25 years of continuous employment. Since his arrival at the company he’s held a number of positions including associate director, before becoming a main board director.

Jeff, who has responsibility for business development, heads up Surgo’s estimating team. Since entering the construction industry he has witnessed many changes, not least those associated with the procurement of new work.

Aside from his role within Surgo he was recently instrumental in forging alliances with two other major contractors in the region to highlight the challenges faced by local contractors, as a result of the way public sector projects are procured, this is a subject he feels strongly about and will continue to champion.

Outside of work Jeff can often be found showing off a mean forehand/backhand on the tennis court or out cycling.

According to Jeff, it’s the people that continue to make his job so enjoyable. He said:

“Over the past 25 years I’ve met and worked with some great people both within Surgo and some of our project partners. I’m looking forward to working with a great team and reaching my next milestone.”

Jeff was presented with this long-service gift by managing director, James Walker.
