Surgo Construction (Surgo), one of the region’s leading building contractors, is delighted to announce its support for a local junior football team.
Surgo has recently provided AFC Newbiggin Juniors, an under 12s team, which competes in the Pin Point Recruitment Football League, with a brand-new strip.
Thanking Surgo for its valuable support, club secretary, Lynn Burns, said;
‘The club and the players are over the moon to receive the new strips. We are a small club and in the past have struggled to get sponsorship. We really needed new kit for the under 12s team, and it’s that brilliant Surgo has agreed to do this for us.’
Surgo’s construction director, Jeff Charlton, added;
‘It is important for us to engage with our local community and therefore we are very happy to be a sponsor for AFC Newbiggin Juniors. Hopefully some of the players will follow in the footsteps of other Pin Point Recruitment Football League legends such as Alan Shearer and Michael Carrick.’
Surgo is the contractor responsible for construction of the recently completed mixed used scheme that forms part of the ongoing regeneration of Newbiggin. The development which features eight two-bedroom apartments on the upper floors and three 1,500 sq ft retail units at ground floor is also home to Newbiggin Town Council.
