As we all know, COVID-19 continued to affect the world throughout 2021, and not least the construction industry. However, despite the challenges faced, such as social distancing, staff absenteeism and not to mention materials shortages, Surgo Construction’s team did what it does best and pulled together to successfully deliver schemes across a diverse range of sectors.

LINKS HOUSE

In the housing sector extensive refurbishment and remodelling work was carried out on Links House, Hexham, for Karbon Homes and Stop Gap Supported Housing. The project provided much-need accommodation to support the homeless of Hexham.

In the further education sector work on a major extension to Middlesbrough College’s STEM Centre completed ready to welcome students at the start of September.

IMPROVEMENTS TO OFFICE FACILITIES

With safety at its heart, Surgo continued to work on behalf of longstanding client, Dräger Safety UK, a designer, and manufacturer of industrial safety equipment. The works involved will see major improvements to office facilities at its well-established site in Blyth, Northumberland.

NEW FOR Q1 oF 2022

Quotient Sciences, a drug development and manufacturing specialist, appointed Surgo Construction to conduct substantial remodelling works at the client’s facility in Alnwick.

Undertaking a second key project for South Tyneside Council, our site team has commenced work on a key project to increase capacity at South Shields’ crematorium.
