Surgo is really delighted to have linked up with the Newcastle United Foundation to support its staff with free NHS health checks.
Valuing the level of service the staff provide, several employees took full advantage of a 30-minute check up which looked at their overall health and fitness, monitored their blood pressure and cholesterol and made suggestions on what they could do to improve their diet and activity levels if needed.
With a growing awareness of the value gained by both businesses and employees to stay healthy Martin Blight, director at Surgo said: “It was great to welcome Thomas from the Newcastle United Foundation to Surgo to carry out the health checks.
“It’s important that our employees take the time to focus on their health and wellbeing as we understand the pressures that the workplace can have on people, in particular within the construction industry.
“We hope the staff who took part found the health checks useful, as we would look to run them again in the future.”
The confidential check assesses blood cholesterol level, blood pressure, anthropometric screening and verbal screening.
Newcastle United Foundation also offers a free electrocardiogram test (ECG), which can identify irregularities around the heart.
