Apartment scheme shortlisted
Surgo Construction is delighted to announce that a recently completed apartment development, for client Ascent Homes has been shortlisted in the forthcoming North East Insider Property Awards.
Construction of the stunning development of 27 one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses, situated in the heart of picturesque Ponteland, completed earlier this year ahead of the developer’s launch for sale in February.
The development, designed by Newcastle-based architect MWE, is set out over two three-storey blocks interconnected by a contemporary glazed walkway. Constructed on the site of the former Ponteland Library the scheme presented the site team with several challenges, namely its location on a road surrounded by residential properties.
During construction, the site team was often commended by the local community for going above and beyond what was required to ensure minimum disruption to their day to day lives, as well as assisting the elderly residents of the adjacent Henderson Court, by ensuring they had continued access to the local amenities via a purpose built footpath.
Speaking about the possibility of yet another Surgo scheme winning an award, director, Jeff Alexander, commented:
“I was delighted to hear that Hemingway Court has been shortlisted in this year’s North East Insider’s Property Awards. Ascent Homes is up against strong competition from more established and larger developers in the Best Residential Development category. Everyone wishes them well and hope they are crowned the winners on the night.”
The North East Insider Property Awards will take place on 23rd May at Gateshead’s Hilton Hotel.
