Bede Homes have appointed Surgo Construction as the main contractor for their £15 million development of the site of the former Tall Trees Hotel in Yarm.
The development at Beck View will see the construction of 21 five-bedroom Executive Homes with all the properties enjoying south or west-facing views of the picturesque Saltergill Rock and the surrounding countryside.
The properties have just been released for sale, through Yarm-based estate agents Michael Poole.
Further information can be found on the Bede Homes website, and property prices range from £560,000 to £745,000.
Bede Homes Managing Director Joe Docherty said: “We are tremendously excited about this development and there has already been significant interest in the properties because of the wonderful location.
“Surgo are a long standing and respected contractor, known for building quality homes across the North East, and Bede Homes are delighted to have appointed them to build this flagship £15 million development in Yarm. I’m very much looking forward to working with Managing Director James Walker and the Surgo team.”
James Walker said: “We are delighted that Bede Homes has chosen to appoint Surgo as its main contractor on such a desirable scheme in a fabulous location. I believe that our extensive experience built on successfully delivering many high-quality residential developments for discerning clients, such as Bede Homes, makes us the perfect project partner to construct the new homes at Beck
View.”
Surgo is currently on site at two locations in Northumberland, where it is working on the renovation of listed properties in Ponteland and an intimate development of 16 properties in Acklington, to create stunning new homes.
Gateshead-based Bede Homes was established in 2016 by Andrew Burnett and Richard Buckley, who had formed the successful land and planning agency Buckley Burnett in 2011. They were joined by Gavin Cordwell-Smith who is chief executive of major and property and construction organisation The Hellens Group, and Joe Docherty, who has held a number of high-profile Executive and Non Executive roles and who previously led the award-winning agency Tees Valley Regeneration as well as the house building division of Home Group.
MD Joe Docherty said: “The previous landowners had planning permission for 35 homes, but we decided to reduce the density because we were mindful of concerns in Teesside about over development. These will be stunning homes in a stunning location, and the development is part of our vision for Bede Homes to be the region’s premier independent house builder.”
