Brief description of works

Refurbishment and conversion of listed mill building to form new visitors centre, gallery, cafe and associated works.

The adjoining single storey warehouse allowed the introduction of a contemporary addition to the building which enabled the entrance foyer, plant rooms and the vertical circulation to be contained outwith the mill to make efficient use of space and avoid the mill’s character being harmed.

Very restricted site, grade 2 listed building.

Major structural work.

Part heritage lottery funded.

Contract period/compliance with standards
