Returning to Durham University’s Trevelyan College, Surgo has been appointed to carry out refurbishment works.
Following a successful tender process, via the university’s minor works framework agreement, Surgo was recently awarded the £2.3m contract which started in mid-July. Surgo is currently on-site fitting replacement bathrooms, undertaking window repairs and installing new fire doors.
The project will be undertaken within a tight timescale, so that the works are completed by early September, ready for the next student intake and next academic year.
Speaking of the appointment, Jeff Alexander director at Surgo said:
“We are delighted to be back at Durham University again after working on Collingwood College earlier in the year, where we refurbished the bar and gym areas and undertook external works. Our experience of working on old and listed buildings will be put to good use.
It’s our aim to work to time on this tight project, in keeping with Surgo’s reputation of delivering high-quality projects and to provide a transformed facility for all to enjoy.”
